State Representative Frank Iler to seek re-election
OAK ISLAND, N.C. – State Representative Frank Iler (R-Brunswick) confirmed that that he will seek re-election this year. Iler, a retired businessman who lives on Oak Island with his wife, Jackie, was selected to fill the vacancy created by Rep. Bonner Stiller’s resignation last year.
“Since taking office last June, I have cast over 600 votes, answered over 800 e-mails, letters and phone calls from Brunswick County residents and visited with citizens in all parts of the county,” said Iler. “Representing the people of Brunswick County in Raleigh is both a great honor and a tremendous responsibility – a responsibility I take very seriously.”
“In this difficult economy, families and small business owners throughout Brunswick County are tightening their belts and making tough decisions; government has a responsibility to do the same,” Rep. Iler added. “My professional experience as a cost accountant and budget supervisor will help me serve as a strong voice for common-sense fiscal policies that make wise use of the taxpayers’ money and reduce the burden on our hard-working families and small businesses.”
“While the votes we cast are important, so is the opportunity to help citizens in the district make their state government work better for them,” Rep. Iler added. “Sometimes we are able to help their voices be heard, and other times actually get some action out of the bureaucracy. If re-elected, I will strive to continue offering personal, responsive constituent service for the people of Brunswick County.”
